DAY-WEEKEND COURSES

EMERGENCY SIGNALLING
This essential 12 hour course covers all aspects of trail centric emergency signalling used to attract attention in the event of an emergency. Covers PLBs, tracking devices, phones, radios lateral signalling techniques, fire, flares, smoke, lasers, reflection, strobe, panel and sound devices ( whistles, alarms etc). Course is practical instruction based on real world applications.

CROSS COUNTRY TREKKING
This course is structured to transition mid to experienced hikers to the basic level of cross-country trekking. Course covers equipment & gear selection, cross country navigation, wilderness first aid & survival, advanced safety planning, food selection and remote area caching. Desert, arid, savannah, alpine/sub alpine and temperature forest course options.

HIKER SELF RESCUE
A highly recommended course for solo or duo hikers and trekkers, this course offers practical and specialised instruction for self-rescue: How to carry out your own emergency and evac procedure when conventional or rescue systems fail. Covers essential planning, kit selection; protocols, comms, do's and don't. Based on real world experiences and applications.

REMOTE HIKING FIRST AID
This hybrid but high demand course covers essential components of first aid, wilderness medicine, well being, health management and psychological factors relevant to long distance remote area hiking. This is a course that is practical, hands on, delivered by experienced instructors and trail rescue paramedics.

HIGH RISK HIKING - BUSHFIRE
This course concentrates specifically on the risks associated with bushfire risks when hiking in a national park and the key considerations, decisions, actions-on and kit to use to reduce that risk; evade and evacuate and/or coordinate rescue. Course is based on the assumption the bushfire occurs while on trail.
